ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrival Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport – JKIA
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA), you will be met by our AsaRay Tours representation who will offer you all the necessary assistance you will need on arrival. After which He / She will accompany you to check in at your hotel in Nairobi. All the safari details will be briefed on this day. Spent the rest of the day at leisure!
Overnight at the Sarova Stanley Hotel – BB
Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is a beautiful Fresh water lake fringed by thick papyrus. The Lake and its surroundings are rich in natural bounty. Most of the Lake is surrounded by forests of yellow barked Acacia or Yellow fever tree. The Forest abounds with bird life which makes it the best birding destination. The lake draws wild game like Giraffe, Buffalos, Colobus monkeys etc. and Hippos population sleep the day out in the Lakes waters. Start off with a game drive / walk in Hells Gate National Park which is in Naivasha. If possible it’s also exciting to do a cycling ride in Hells gate (bikes hired at the gate at an extra cost) and also time allowing dip yourselves in the natural health spa found in this park. In the later afternoon, a boat ride (at an extra cost) on the lake Naivasha would be exciting!

Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park
In the morning, you will depart Lake Naivasha and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley Soda Ash Lakes. The Lakes abundance of algae attracts the vast quantity of Flamingoes that famously line the shores. The Lake lies to the South of Nakuru in the Rift Valley and is protected by the Lake Nakuru National Park. The ecosystem of Lake Nakuru comprises of the lake, surrounded by mainly wooded and bushy grassland. The park provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the White Rhinos and buffaloes. A variety of terrestrial birds including Flamingoes are found in this park. Enjoy game viewing en route to arrive at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon enjoy a game drive in Lake Nakuru and visit the Baboon Cliff which is a spectacular view point of the Lake. After sunset, return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Lake Victoria
In the morning after breakfast you will depart Lake Nakuru with game viewing and drive to Kisumu town – Lake Victoria! Lake Victoria is Africa’s largest inland lake. Here you will visit the Ruma National Park famously referred to as “Last retreat of the Roan Antelope”. This is the only Terestial park on the western side of Kenya found on Lake Victoria. This is the only park in Kenya where you will find the Roan Antelope. Roan Antelope is an endangered species which is protected within Ruma National Park. Black Rhino, Leopards, Buffaloes, Rothschild Giraffe etc. and over 400 species of birds can be found in this park. You will arrive at the Impala Eco Lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon you will depart to Ruma National Park to enjoy the unique beauty of this park compared to the other parks in Kenya. After sunset drive back to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lake Victoria
On this day you will wake up and have breakfast. After breakfast you will spend the day enjoying the adventure termed, “Best of Kisumu” which will take you through Lake, nature, History, people and the buzz of the daily life. Start your tour on Lake Victoria with a gorgeous sunrise cruise weaving through the Hippos and fishermen and not forgetting a bird species of about 300 birds! Visit the museum where you will learn about the history and culture of the region and the local tribe “Luo”. Visit the Maasai souvenir market for spot gift shopping and also see the famous local market and thereafter have a leisurely lunch at a restaurant along the Lake. While away the afternoon in the tranquil setting of the Impala Sanctuary on the banks of Lake Victoria. Follow the many trails around the park, or simply sit quietly in the shade down by the lake and let the wild impala and zebra roam closer. A sun down at the Mythical “Kit Mikaye” rock watching a pink sunset over a dramatic boulder strewn landscape is the best way to end this day! Kit Mikaye rock is actually a collection of 7 huge boulders sitting atop a hillside in the rolling hills West of Kisumu. This unique rock has a cultural back ground / belief that will be given to you while there. Visit to see and be struck by this awesome feature of nature! Return to the Resort for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Ndere Island
This day you will be a full day of adventure walking, bird watching, scenic and hiking on Ndere Island. This is the only park where you do walking game watching with a professional tour guide. Ndere Island National Park is referred to as “The Island of Serenity and Beauty!” It is a haven for birds. This is one of the most beautiful islands surrounding Lake Victoria. It is a “hidden treasure” on Lake Victoria. It is dominated with grassy hills and beautiful views of the Island and Lake Victoria. Ndere is often called home of the Nile crocodiles. Nderes ecological foot print includes wooded hills and tall grass, wildlife species etc. The true jewel of this island and primary attraction are the “Crocs” aka The Crocs of Ndere! Learn about the co existence of Crocs of Ndere and Hippos and see them co exist basking in the sun with Hippos. You will take a boat ride to the Island. In the evening full of exciting memories you will drive back to your hotel.

Day 7: Lake Victoria – Nairobi
In the morning after breakfast, you will bid Kisumu – Lake Victoria “kwaheri” meaning goodbye and “full of lasting safari memories”, you will depart to drive back to Nairobi. You will make a stopover for lunch in Nakuru at Sarova Woodlands Hotel and continue on to Nairobi. You will arrive Nairobi in the late afternoon to be dropped off for own onward plans.
